Kitchen renovations in Sydney.

A kitchen renovation touches almost every trade — demolition, plumbing, electrical, joinery, stone, tiling and painting. Empolo Group has 10 years of experience renovating kitchens, and we manage the whole job so you deal with one builder, not six trades.

Scope

What a kitchen renovation with us includes

Every job is different, so your written quote itemises exactly what applies to your kitchen. A typical scope covers:

How It Works

From first visit to handover.

01

Site visit & brief

We look at the existing kitchen, talk through how you use it, your budget and what you want to change.

02

Layout & selections

Cabinetry, benchtop, tiles, tapware and appliances are chosen before work starts, so orders and lead times don't hold the build up.

03

Written, itemised quote

Scope broken down by stage, with inclusions, exclusions and provisional sums, prices ex and inc GST, a payment schedule and how long the quote is valid.

04

Build

Trades are coordinated in the right order — demolition, services rough-in, lock-up, fit-off, finishes.

05

Handover

A final walk-through, a clean site and the paperwork, including trade compliance certificates.

Before You Start

Good to know before you start

Older homes. Homes built before the 1990s can contain asbestos in wall sheeting, flooring or splashbacks. Where there's any doubt we recommend an asbestos assessment, and licensed removal if it's found, before demolition begins.

Moving walls, sinks or gas. Changing the layout can involve structural work, plumbing relocation or gas. These need an engineer and/or licensed trades, and we'll flag them at quote stage rather than mid-job.

Approvals. Many internal kitchen renovations don't need council approval, but heritage, strata and structural changes can change that. We'll check what applies to your property before work starts. If you live in an apartment, you will usually need your owners corporation's approval first.

Questions

Kitchen renovation FAQs

How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Sydney?

It depends on the size of the room, how much the layout changes, your choice of cabinetry, stone and appliances, and the condition of the existing walls, floor and services. We don't give blind prices — after a site visit you receive a written, itemised quote so you can see where the money goes.

How long will it take?

That depends on the scope and on how quickly made-to-order joinery and stone are ready. We confirm the expected program in writing as part of your quote.

Do I need to move out during the renovation?

Many clients stay in the home. We plan the work to keep disruption manageable, and we talk through temporary kitchen arrangements before work begins.

How do payments work?

In NSW, a residential building contract over $7,500 must be in writing, and a deposit can't be more than 10% of the contract price. Residential work over $20,000 also requires Home Building Compensation insurance. Your quote sets out the payment schedule and how these requirements apply to your job.

Who chooses the cabinetry, benchtop and tapware?

You do. We help you choose what suits your budget and layout, and we lock selections in before the build starts.
